Game Of Thrones Actor Explains Why It’s Good The Show Is Ending

Game of Thrones is likely one of the hottest exhibits on the planet, so that you is perhaps questioning why HBO is deciding to finish the present after eight seasons. Actor Liam Cunningham, who performs Davos Seaworth, says in a brand new interview that it is good, really, that the present is ending. Why? Because occurring any longer may create the sensation that the present is overstaying its welcome, he stated.

“I get asked all the time, ‘What the hell are you guys thinking? You could run Game of Thrones forever.’ If you want to stay cool, and the show is cool, the best way to stay cool is to not overstay your welcome,” Cunningham told IGN.

In truth, Cunningham stated it “would be dishonorable to stay on longer than we should.”

He admitted that he’ll personally “dearly” miss Game of Thrones, including that he expects to be known as “Game of Thrones’ Liam Cunningham” even on his tombstone.

“But it was time to get out and wrap up that story… People deserve the end of that story and to not drag it out just because there’s a book to be made. I think it’s very honorable what they’re doing,” he stated.

Author George R.R. Martin stated his novels are deep and wealthy sufficient to help as many as 13 seasons’ worth of shows. Martin stated Game of Thrones showrunners D.B. Weiss and David Benioff initially had solely seven seasons planned, so Martin and HBO have been profitable in convincing them to do yet one more, at the very least.

Game of Thrones Season eight premieres in April–you can see new photos here. While the mainline present is ending, a prequel TV series may be on the way, whereas Martin continues to put in writing the novel collection.
